Important Notice
All students planning to study MBBS abroad must ensure that their chosen university is recognized by NMC and listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools.
A candidate must fulfill the following requirements:
Course Duration
The candidate must have undergone a medical course leading to a foreign medical degree with a minimum duration of 54 months.
Internship (Abroad)
The candidate must have completed an internship of at least 12 months in the same foreign medical institution.
Medium of Instruction
The foreign medical degree must have been taught in the English language.
Mandatory Subjects
The candidate must have studied all the mandatory subjects specified in Schedule-I.
Registration / License
The candidate must be registered / eligible for license to practice in the country where the degree was awarded.
Internship in India
The candidate must complete a supervised internship in India for a minimum of 12 months as applicable.
National Exit Test (NExT)
The candidate must have cleared the National Exit Test (NExT) or any other test mandated by the Commission.
Location of medical college or institution and administration of the course or training
The entire course, training and internship or clerkship shall be done outside India in the same foreign medical institution throughout the course of study and no part of medical training and internship shall be done in India or in any country other than country from where the primary medical qualification is obtained.
Duration of course
The total duration of the foreign medical graduation course shall be completed within ten years from the date of joining the course.
